Powering the European Energy Transition: the Road to Net-Zero

Join us for a Green Recovery Special Edition of our EU Policy Series, which will provide decision makers and business leaders with a platform for a pragmatic exchange of ideas to stimulate the green recovery. Bringing together thought leadership, data-driven insights and expertise, this first event will focus on how best to accelerate the clean energy transition, and support the long-term competitiveness and resilience of the European economy.

Europe is committing to more ambitious climate targets for 2030 with the goal to be Net Zero by 2050, increasing spending over the coming decade on sustainable economic growth and on accelerating the clean energy transition.

Three strategic issues must be resolved if the EU is to hit its increasingly ambitious climate targets, including a goal of net-zero emissions by 2050:

● How can the EU double, triple and eventually quadruple annual renewables deployment?
● What zero-carbon solutions can offer alternatives to gas for dispatchable generation capacity?
● Are current market regulations and incentives fit for purpose to deliver on the EU’s net-zero ambition?

BloombergNEF’s first ever European Energy Transition Outlook Report will provide insights to set the scene for future actions to support the EU member states reach their carbon neutrality goals.

The audience will have a chance to submit questions to the speakers prior to the webcast or via a live Q&A during the event.
