How to Spot the Next Meme Stock: News Anomalies

The goal of any analyst on the street is to monitor the market, understand price movements, and find profitable investment opportunities. A modern way of spotting news anomalies can mean spotting an uptick in the number of social media posts about a company, notable figure, or general topic. When strange price movements happen, we can use social media data to better understand the market sentiment of that ticker.

Join Bloomberg for Education to learn about our media and news tools that can track social media sentiment and highlight tickers with significant upticks in posts. We will use this data and gauge if the market news is positive or negative to help predict future price movements based.

In this presentation we will cover how to:
  • Analyze which tickers have the highest upticks in social media posts in the recent weeks
  • See the latest market moving headlines based on your ticker
  • Spot trends and news anomalies based on significant price movements
