Ted Merz oversees search and display for news and social media content on the Bloomberg Terminal, news analytics and third party content deals. He has spent 29 years at Bloomberg, the first 17 as a journalist. As Product Head he started First Word, a summarization service, founded Bloomberg Brief newsletters and managed the integration of tweets on the Bloomberg Terminal. As a journalist, Merz started the company's emerging markets coverage in 1991, ran the New York bureau, oversaw Global Fixed Income and general coverage for the Americas. He has a B.A. in philosophy from St. John's College in Annapolis and is a CFA charterholder. He started a charity to send Nicaraguan high school kids to college.

He joined Bloomberg in 2014 after more than a decade's experience of trading FX and rates, with a focus on emerging markets, at institutions including Lehman Brothers, Standard Chartered Bank and Nomura.

Tomoko Yamazaki is the Asia lead for Bloomberg News' Product Strategy team as well as an editor for the Markets Live blog. In the past 21 years at Bloomberg News, she has been the team leader for emerging markets coverage in Asia, an editor for the FX/rates team and a hedge fund reporter.
Tomoko began her career at Bloomberg in Tokyo and moved to Singapore in 2011. She has covered various financial assets including debt and currencies as well as hedge funds and real estate industries in the course of her career at Bloomberg. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Tomoko worked in New York with Japan’s Jiji Press.
