Apple’s New App Fee Structure a Reckless Response: BI Replay

The Apple webinar looks at a potential backlash that the company could face because of its new AppStore fee structure, where it will charge developers a 12-27% fee if they use outside platforms for payment. Though the company can lawfully charge for the use of its App Store, it's required to allow developers to steer users to cheaper payment options outside of the App Store. The fee will likely be viewed as contrary to the spirit of that ruling and hindering the ability of developers to offer lower prices.
