Thames Water Crisis Reaches Boiling Point, Debt Restructuring Looms
The crisis at Thames Water has deepened as shareholders have pulled the equity funding and the holding company has defaulted. This leaves a debt restructuring at the operating company as the path of least resistance- with a haircut of more than 20% for Class A bondholders potentially required to bring gearing back down to a sustainable level.
