The Bloomberg Activism team is proud to host the second annual "What's New in Shareholder Activism" event where we will hold a discussion of how activists find their targets as well as take a look at Bloomberg's newly released Activism Screening model and data feed.

Scott Deveau, Bloomberg Shareholder Activism Reporter, will moderate our trends and strategies discussion with Cartica Management's Kate Ahern, Bluebell Capital's Giuseppe Bivona, and Legion Partners' Chris Kiper.

Adam Kommel, Bloomberg Activism Data Specialist, will explore the newly released Activism Screening model. Since its January release, companies ranked in the top 5% have been 5x more likely to be targeted.

Wendy Huang, Bloomberg Product Manager for Enterprise Reference Data, will cover the newly released Enterprise Shareholder Activism Campaigns Data feed.

Prior to launching Bluebell Capital Partners, Giuseppe Co-Founded Bluebell Partners, a co-investor and advisory firm involved in successful activist campaigns in Europe. Prior to this, Giuseppe spent a collective 18 years at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. He began his career at McKinsey and IBM. Giuseppe holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Chris Kiper

Mr. Kiper is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Legion Partners Asset Management, LLC, a long-only activist manager focused on the North American small-cap market. Mr. Kiper is responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment activities and serves on Legion’s Investment and Management Committees. Prior to founding Legion Partners, Mr. Kiper worked for Shamrock Capital Advisors, the alternative investment vehicle of the Disney family where he served as Portfolio Manager of the Shamrock Activist Value Fund, a concentrated, long-only, activist fund with approximately $1 billion of assets under management.

Adam received a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Wendy Huang

Bloomberg Enterprise Reference Data

Wendy oversees product development for Bloomberg's Enterprise Data solutions for Ownership and Activism data. She joined Bloomberg's Global Data department in 2014, managing data teams in Princeton focused on the procurement and management of funds and security ownership data content. Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College and is currently pursuing her Master degree of Computer and Information Technology from University of Pennsylvania
