All in Oil: Sharp OPEC+ Cuts, Soft Demand & Majors’ Transition Strategies

Softening energy demand growth outlook—especially in China—and resilient non-OPEC output is forcing deeper OPEC production cuts amidst growing skepticism around member compliance, with oil price volatility likely to remain elevated as a result. Meanwhile, following COP28’s historic agreement to “transition away” from fossil fuels, European energy majors are tapping the brakes with higher investment in oil and gas, reflecting an emphasis on returns and an aversion to execution and profitability risk seen in crowded renewable markets. Join our Bloomberg Intelligence analysts as we dive into the trends shaping the global oil story, outline what to expect throughout 2024, and demonstrate how to make the most of shifting energy markets.
