Alan X. Gomez Hernandez

Alan Gómez joined Citibanamex (Citibank subsidiary) in 2013 and since 2017 is VP of Sustainability. Across the financial group and through the Sustainable Progress Strategy (Global) & Corporate Citizenship Strategy (Mexico), Alan is Mexico’s lead champion to address and secure full integration on Sustainable Finance, Environmental, Climate and Social Risk Management (CESRM) and Sustainable Operations and Supply Chain (Environmental Footprint). In addition, he represents Citibanamex in climate change public-private dialogues with governments, international organizations, NGOs, public and private associations, clients and investors.

Prior to assuming Citibanamex responsibilities, he contributed to climate change projects-strategies for governments, companies and cities through organizations like Mario Molina Center for Strategic Studies on Energy and the Environment (1995 Chemistry Nobel Prize) (2007-2010), Mexican Ministry of the Environment (SEMARNAT) (2010-2012) and Det Norske Veritas (2012). He is Chair of the Sustainability Committee at the Mexican Banking Association (ABM) (2017), member of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) (2020), Sherpa for the Sustainable Finance Development Network (SFDN) at APEC-APFF-ABAC (2021) and Lecturer at Tecnologíco de Monterrey.

Alan holds an MBA in Sustainability Management from University of Luneburg (Germany) and a Bachelor degree of Environmental Engineering from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (Mexico). He also has further studies in Sustainable and Risk Finance, Senior Management for Business and Urban Sustainability.

Dave Stangis is Senior Partner and Chief Sustainability Officer at Apollo Global Management, where he is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. Prior to joining Apollo, Dave founded 21C Impact, an advisory firm dedicated to delivering a differentiated impact on business results with a focus on ESG and corporate sustainability initiatives. Previously, he was the Chief Sustainability Officer at Campbell Soup Company, where he created and led the company’s ESG, Corporate Citizenship, Sustainability & Public Affairs strategies. Dave joined Campbell from Intel Corporation, where he served as the company’s first Global Director of Corporate Responsibility.

Denise Pavarina

Denise Pavarina is Vice Chair of TCFD (FSB), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures,  consultant associated with AGGREGO, independent member of the board of directors of Hospital Care Caledonia and BR Advisory Partners Participações,  member of the Ethics Council of Anbima and of the Supervisory Board of the Securities Analyst - CSA. Denise was Director of Companies at BNDES, Executive Director and Investor Relations Director at Banco Bradesco, Managing Director at BRAM and previously head of Banco Bradesco BBI – Bradesco Investment Bank. With over 30 years of experience in the financial and capital markets, he was president of Anbima – National Association of Financial and Capital Markets for 04 years and member of several boards of directors, such as Vale, B3, Cielo, Arcelor Brasil, São Paulo Alpargatas and Latasa. She has a degree in economics from FAAP, Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, law from UNIP and specialization in Finance from Insper and IESE – AMP.

Gustavo Pimentel is managing director of SITAWI, where he leads Latin America's largest practice in Sustainable Finance and ESG Research, now with more than 70 professionals. He was elected the 3rd best contributor to the Responsible Investment agenda globally by Extel Independent Research on Responsible Investment - IRRI 2019 and one of the 50 Climate Innovators in Brazil by Época Negócios magazine (2021). For 20 years, Gustavo has advised commercial and development banks, asset managers, pension funds and insurance companies on the integration of ESG and climate issues into strategy, risk management, product development and investment analysis, serving clients in Brazil and in Latin America.

James Ellis

He oversees an analyst team focused on research and analysis into clean energy, advanced transport, digital industry, innovative materials and commodities across the region. James holds an M.P.A. from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and a B.A. magna cum laude from New York University.

Juliano Assuncao

Juliano J. Assunção, the executive director of CPI’s Rio Office, is a professor of the Department of Economics at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Juliano’s research focuses on different aspects of development economics, including agricultural economics, institutions, and financial intermediation. He is a member of the Consortium on Financial Systems and Poverty at the University of Chicago and works as a consultant for firms, governments, and multi-lateral organizations. Juliano has been collaborating with CPI since 2010. Besides providing strategic guidance on the projects’ components, the research areas he addresses at CPI are: improving policies to increase efficiency in land use; the implementation of the new Forest Code; and the relationship between productivity gains and protection of natural resources.

Larissa Carolina Amorim dos Santos

Larissa Amorim is Undersecretary for Sustainability at the Ministry of Infrastructure. She acted as a consultant for several companies in the environmental area. She was Environment Coordinator at the Oscar Niemeyer Planning Center / UnB. Environmental analyst at Ibama since 2011, she has held the positions of Transport Licensing Coordinator, General Coordinator of Transport Licensing Mining and Substitute Civil Works and Environmental Licensing Director, being responsible for monitoring the conduct of licensing processes for large infrastructure works , logistics, in addition to the oil and gas chain in Brazil. She is currently Undersecretary for Sustainability at the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Larissa holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from UnB, Master in Forest Sciences from UnB, with a focus on recovery of degraded areas.

Lilian Alves

Lilian Alves has 10 years of experience in the power sector and is deeply passionate about working in the energy industry. She is the Director of Strategic Planning at Mitsui & Co. Power Americas (MPA). At MPA, she is responsible for the business development opportunities in the Wholesale Market, as well as the development of new clean energy projects. Previously, Lilian was the Business Development Manager at CEMEX Energía and Head of Latin America Analysis at Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF). She is part of the Mujeres en Energía Renovable en México (MERM) association and the Treasurer of Mexico's Hydrogen Association (H2México). Lilian graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in International Relations. She is originally from Amazonas in Brazil and currently lives in Mexico City.
