Following a turbulent 2020, this year provides a unique set of conditions for the Scandinavian FX market. Norway's Krone had strong returns in early January, outperforming all other G10 currencies. However, the oil-dependent Krone has taken a dive since then. The Swedish Krona, on the other hand, outperformed all other G10 currency last year, with 12.87% gain against the U.S. Dollar. With Bloomberg Surveys indicating that analysts believe NOK currency is poised outperform SEK to gain on the Euro throughout 2021, it is an exciting time to understand various the factors at play.

Alex started his career at Bloomberg as a FX and FX Derivatives specialist working with our Sellside and Buyside clients across the UK, Middle East and Emerging Markets. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Alex worked as a FX Derivatives structurer helping corporate clients hedge FX Risk. Alex holds a double degree in Science and Commerce from Sydney University and is a FRM charter holder.
