Understanding the IFR Implementation Challenges

The new EU Investment Firm Regulation (IFR) and Directive (IFD) together the  Investment Firm Prudential Regime (IFPR), and in the UK the proposed MIFIDPRU Sourcesbook, will require investment firms operating in the EU and UK to overhaul the way they measure and report their Own Funds Requirement and Liquid Asset Requirement. IFPR/MIFIDPRU represent a major change for investment firms; it’s critical that firms act now to adequately prepare for the new regime.

Murat heads Bloomberg's EMEA and APAC product development for Reference and Regulatory & Accounting Enterprise data solutions. He interacts with clients and regulators, identifying key challenges and supporting the development of new data sets. Murat has 16 years of risk management and compliance experience covering sell and buy side markets. Before joining Bloomberg, Murat worked as a Director at KPMG, advising clients in risk control, capital management, compliance and accounting.

Daniel Caporaletti

Daniel Caporaletti is a product manager in the Bloomberg Enterprise Content Group, developing data feed solutions for derivatives, pricing and risk analytics. Daniel joined Bloomberg in 2007 and has been responsible for the development of Bloomberg derivatives data, pricing and risk analytics. Daniel also managed the Event Driven Feeds product, providing real time access to news, news analytics and economic indicators for algorithmic trading. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he worked as a derivatives structurer at Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNP Paribas Group) where he supervised the origination of cross asset derivatives and structured notes. Daniel holds a MSc in Economics and Finance from Marche Polytechnic University, Italy.

Andrew Lowin

Andrew Lowin joined Duff & Phelps in January 2015 from Kinetic Partners. As a result of Duff & Phelps’ acquisition of Kinetic Partners, Duff & Phelps created a dedicated Compliance and Regulatory Consulting practice. Andrew is a director within the Compliance Consulting team and has over 35 years’ financial services industry experience in the asset manager, broker/dealer and private client asset management sectors which has involved undertaking the roles of CEO and CFO. Andrew is responsible for managing Duff & Phelps' technical research on EU regulatory matters. In his role Andrew is responsible for training and supporting the Firm’s activities on technical issues, maintaining the Firm’s relationships with the FCA’s policy teams and trade bodies and undertaking specialist project management. Andrew has been involved in and managed a number of Skilled Person assignments. He has also very successfully led the implementation phases following the completion of S166 projects. Andrew joined Kinetic Partners as a consultant in January 2007 and in April 2009 was promoted to Director.
