Renewable natural gas (RNG) has grown from a niche market to a strategic pillar for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors like heavy duty trucking and shipping. In the US, new projects are coming online at rapid clip – reaching over 500 in 2025 compared to only 100 in 2019.  But the market is hitting an inflection point. Road fuel demand is cooling, the shipping industry is testing alternative low-carbon fuels, and policy continues to evolve. At the same time, surging data center power demand and Europe’s push for low-carbon gas are creating new, competing outlets for a limited supply of RNG. In this webinar, BNEF Renewable Fuels Specialist Jade Patterson is joined by the RNG Coalition to unpack the next chapter for RNG. They will explore the key policies driving demand across transportation and gas grids from 2026 onward, and what changing policy, pricing and cross-Atlantic trade could mean for project developers, utilities, fuel suppliers and investors.
