UK & EU Transaction Reporting Reform: What We Know and What It Means
Earlier this year, we explored the proposals that signaled a new direction for transaction reporting across the UK and EU. Now, with ESMA and the FCA having published their Final Report and Policy Statement, respectively, the shorter-term picture is much clearer and the implications for firms are becoming more tangible.
ESMA's Final Report confirms a long-term ambition to simplify financial transaction reporting through a more integrated reporting framework, while the FCA has set out short-term changes to UK transaction reporting and established a taskforce to inform the long-term approach to harmonizing transaction and post-trade reporting.
Although both regulators share the goal of simplification, they are taking different approaches, creating new considerations for firms operating across jurisdictions.
Join us as we examine the latest positions from the FCA and ESMA, compare the UK and EU approaches and discuss the strategic, operational and technology implications for firms as the next phase of transaction reporting reform begins. The webinar panel includes Richard Young, a member of the FCA’s transaction reporting harmonization taskforce; Rachael Hutchins, Bloomberg regulatory reporting specialist with around 20 years of experience implementing regulatory reporting programmes; and Oliver Bishop, who leads Bloomberg’s regulatory reporting strategy.
Discussion Topics:
- What changed between the consultations and the final UK and EU positions
- The key outcomes from ESMA's Final Report and the FCA's Policy Statement
- Where the UK and EU frameworks are converging and where divergence is beginning to emerge
- The implementation timelines and the practical priorities for firms
- How firms can prepare their reporting frameworks, operating models and governance for the changes ahead
Whether your firm operates in the UK, the EU, or both, this webinar will help you move beyond the proposals and understand what the direction of reform means in practice and how you should be preparing now.
