State of Venture Capital Report
The venture capital market has returned to record-setting territory, but the revival is considerably narrower than headline totals suggest. With still a quarter to go in 2026, investment has reached roughly $750 billion, surpassing the previous record high from 2021.
Much of the activity this year has been driven by AI enthusiasm and an unprecedented wave of investment rounds at or above $1 billion. Exit activity is also gaining traction, led by large strategic acquisitions, yet the industry’s capital-recycling engine is still in the early innings of recovery.
Key report highlights:
- 54% of 2026 venture funding has flowed to artificial intelligence startups
- 88 billion-dollar-plus rounds now represent over 60% of disclosed venture deal value
- $79 billion raised puts venture fundraising on pace for its first increase in five years
Download the report now to explore what record investment, AI-driven concentration and improving liquidity mean for the next phase of venture capital.
