BloombergNEF (BNEF) has launched the 8th edition of its annual New Energy Outlook report, a long-term scenario analysis on the future of the global energy economy. The 2022 report covers power, transport, industry, buildings and the key drivers shaping these sectors until 2050.

Join BNEF analysts as they discuss the key takeaways from this year’s report, looking at country pathways to achieve net zero by 2050 in our updated Net Zero Scenario, and the most influential set of energy and climate scenarios for corporates, financial institutions and policy makers navigating the energy transition.

Key discussion topics:

  • Impact of the European energy crisis and the Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • The main drivers of BNEF’s Economic Transition Scenario, which provides a look at the least-cost pathways toward a lower-carbon economy.
  • Investment in the energy transition over the coming decades, and consideration of options such as grid development, the hydrogen economy and raw materials supply chains.
