In this episode of Need to Know, our series covering the topics and issues influencing markets and the global conversation, Jason Miner, Global Head of Agriculture Research at Bloomberg Intelligence, discusses the financial implications of agriculture markets and explores how ongoing political pressure could affect performance in 2025.

Agriculture has a very broad reach on financial markets,” he explains. “There’s 1.2-1.3 trillion of stocks and bonds globally, and a much bigger area of bigger investment privately that goes into the whole chain from seeds and fertilizers all the way down to the grocery store or biofuels production. So you see a lot of opportunities to invest. And sustainability is sparking a lot of opportunities for innovation and collaboration, because parts of the agriculture chain used to regard each other as just buying a commodity and selling a commodity, and now they really have to keep track of each other. It’s almost hard to overstate the effects of sustainability on the entire agriculture chain right now.”
