Askbnef: Cleaning Up Aviation and Shipping

Reducing emissions in aviation and shipping will rely on the introduction of efficiency technologies and low-carbon fuels. In both sectors, regulatory regimes are now in place at regional or global level to tackle carbon emissions, but challenges abound. Some, such as challenging financing conditions, are common. But these industries also have unique characteristics that will determine technology adoption.

In this AskBNEF discussion, BNEF's aviation specialist Takehiro Kawahara and shipping associate Jakub Cinolter will join Deputy CEO Albert Cheung to discuss the state of global and regional policy frameworks, their chance of success, the technologies and business models that can help airlines and shipping companies tackle emissions, and lessons that each industry can learn from the other.
