Albert Cheung serves as Deputy CEO of BloombergNEF (BNEF), a leading provider of primary research on commodities and the low-carbon transition. He also oversees BNEF’s research on the global low-carbon transition, including clean energy, transport, industry, technology, agriculture and sustainable finance, providing strategic oversight and managing the development and delivery of BNEF’s global research agenda. Albert and his team work closely with corporates, financial institutions and policymakers across the globe, supporting them as they navigate the transition towards a cleaner future. Albert joined BNEF in 2009 and has previously held a number of leadership positions in the firm, including Head of Product and Head of Energy Smart Technologies. Albert holds a MEng in Electrical and Information Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Sonny Zou
Energy Storage Analyst

Sonny Zou is an energy storage analyst at BloombergNEF in Beijing. He covers the Chinese energy storage downstream market, does research on energy storage system providers and leads analysis on energy storage system costs. Prior to BNEF, Sonny was in the UK working full-time on renewable energy market research. Sonny holds a MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.

Helen Kou heads BloombergNEF’s US Power practice based out of San Francisco, overseeing a research team that produces insights on US power markets and power prices. This includes analysis on power market fundamentals relating to power supply and demand, regional market outlooks and vizualiation tools. Prior to this role, she was an analyst on BNEF’s Energy Storage practice, covering stationary storage supply chains and North American power markets. She was the lead author for reports like Energy Storage Market Outlook and Energy Storage Cost Survey. Prior to this role, she was en energy fellow at the California Energy Commision and graduated from University of California, Berkeley.
