Stacy-Marie Ishmael is the managing editor for crypto at Bloomberg News, where she leads a global team of reporters and editors. Prior to joining Bloomberg, she was the editor in chief at The Texas Tribune in Austin. Over the course of her career, which has spanned multiple countries and several different US states, she’s held senior positions in media and technology at places like the Financial Times, Apple, and BuzzFeed News.

David Malingha is an award-wining financial journalist, with a focus on Africa. Malingha is Bloomberg’s East Africa Bureau Chief, managing editorial operations in the eastern and Horn of Africa region. Before his current role, he led Bloomberg’s Nigeria economy and government coverage. During his career of more than 20 years, Malingha has interviewed heads of states, finance ministers, central bank governors, captains of industry, small business entrepreneurs and victims of conflict in war-ravaged regions. Malingha has overseen extensive coverage of key issues from debt to fiscal and monetary policy, commodities, elections and conflict in several countries. He has also been an integral part of special coverage projects, including China’s Africa policy as well as startups-crypto-and-fintech and climate issues on the continent. Malingha has served on the board of Reproductive Health Uganda and is a founding member of the Nile Media Network. He has an MBA, Finance from the Management University of Africa and a post-graduate diploma in ICT Policy and Regulation and a BA Mass Communication from Makerere University.
