Shawn Edwards

Shawn Edwards is Bloomberg’s Chief Technology Officer. He oversees the development of Bloomberg’s global technology strategy. In partnership with Bloomberg Engineering, Shawn and his team are instrumental in developing the company’s market data, analytics, news and community products, researching existing and emerging technologies and architecting strategic technical solutions – including enhancements to its core business, the Bloomberg Terminal. In his role, Shawn advances the company’s engagement with academia, including research fellowships, grants and sponsorships, and also leads engagement with the open source community and the broader developer community. Shawn has repeatedly been named one of the financial industry’s top ten technology leaders by Institutional Investor. Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2003, Shawn worked for Bear Stearns & Co. and also held positions at Mentor Graphics and IBM. Shawn received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Wayne Curry is head of Hong Kong, Taiwan & Korean enterprise sales at Bloomberg LP., the global business, financial information and news leader. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Curry oversees regional strategy for Bloomberg’s financial products including the Bloomberg Professional service, the world's most trusted source of financial data, news and analytics. He leads a team that serves the financial information needs of leading corporations, regional banks, fund managers and the financial services industry. Mr. Curry has market expertise in foreign exchange, equities, fixed income, commodities and emerging/frontier markets. He joined Bloomberg in 2010 where he worked across a number of the firm’s offices including New York, Australia and Hong Kong, overseeing sales strategies & teams for buy-side, sell-side and corporations. He most recently led Bloomberg’s APAC corporations and commodities strategy. Mr. Curry received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & History from the Maxwell School of Public Policy at Syracuse University.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Aidan was responsible for the UK and Ireland team, and brings extensive experience of EMEA markets.
Rocky Tung

Dr Tung is the Director, Head of Policy Research for the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). He leads the team responsible for conducting policy research and industry surveys for the formulation of proposals to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and financial regulators. Prior to joining the FSDC, Dr Tung was the Director of Capital Markets Policy for CFA Institute, covering research areas related to capital market structures (e.g. corporate governance, regulatory environment) in the Asia Pacific region. Before that, he was the Senior Economist for the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, where he oversaw its macroeconomic research, as well as labour- and international trade- related policy research functions. He also served as an economist and a research analyst for banks, a trade credit insurer and a Hong Kong-based think-tank. Dr Tung holds a doctoral degree in organisational leadership from the Northeastern University in Boston. He received a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree, both in Economics, from the University of Hong Kong and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, respectively.

Ross has over 15 years of experience in the financial markets, being active in greater China markets since 2007. Starting out his career in foreign exchange options trading for regional banks. Later making the move to asset management serving HKMA in the Direct Investment Division, managing the Emerging Market Debt portfolio as a PM including working with the first offshore managed CIBM portfolio. Currently serving as CRO for Eastfort Asset Management, which partners with Brummer & Partners in Sweden to provide a suite of investment portfolios focusing on the China bond market for global institutional investors after serving as PM until 2020.
Alexander Chan

Alex works in WWSAL, a single-family office based in Hong Kong, as an Assistant Investment Manager. The team manages a multi-asset portfolio with a global mandate and focuses on fundamental approach on security selections. He is excited to join the community to exchange ideas on investment process-and-selections based on the traditional approach and learn from the quantitative cohort on data analytics and automations. He believes that these two cohorts are converging, as, from a fundamental-cohort perspective, he sees an ongoing increase of data consumption in research analysis and a rise of research process automation.

Mr. Leo Chan is a co-founder and the Chief Investment Officer of Admiralty Harbour Financial Group. He is the Portfolio Manager of the Admiralty Harbour Global Credit Opportunities Fund since 2019. Prior to co-founding Admiralty Harbour Financial Group in 2018, Mr. Chan was a senior portfolio manager at Spinnaker Capital Group. Between 2010 and 2018, he managed the fund’s investment portfolio in Asia and was the head of the Asian credit strategy. His expertise is in Asian and EM high-yield credits, structured credits, distressed and special situations investments across capital structure. Prior to Spinnaker, Mr. Chan worked in the global capital markets division in Morgan Stanley, and the global credit trading division of Deutsche Bank. Mr. Chan holds an MBA from Cornell University, a Master of Applied Science from the University of Ottawa, a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo. He is a CFA Charter holder.
