Prior to 2008, Jon spent a two decades in capital markets, the first decade at JPMorgan and then Accenture, the second decade as co-founder and CEO of a capital Markets management consulting firm, based in London and New York.

Antonio Moreira Salles is an experienced venture-capital investor with a successful track record in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Prior to co-founding MANDI, Antonio worked in the financial services industry for Morgan Stanley and Santander in London, as well as for General Atlantic in Shanghai and Beijing. While in Brazil, Antonio served as Vice Chairman of the Board for Unear and led the launch of new products and services for the marketplace division of Casino Brazil. Antonio has an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from IBMEC-RJ in Brazil. Moreover, Antonio is part of Amazonia 2030, an initiative by Brazilian researchers that seeks to develop an action plan for the sustainable development of the Brazilian Amazon.

Elbia Gannoum

ABEEólica e Vice-chair do Global Wind Energy Council

At the head of ABEEólica for a decade, Elbia Gannoum has been working towards the strengthening and sustainable growth of wind energy, the second source of the Brazilian electric matrix. An active voice in the global debate on diversity and economic inclusion in the energy sector, Elbia defends the idea of Brazilian energy transformation and has been contributing strongly to the development of renewable energies. She recently co-founded the Energy of Transformation Platform – A collaborative platform to share, inspire and drive initiatives and actions for diversity and social inclusion in the energy sector, highlighting the role of women in STEAM areas. In 2019, Elbia received the “C3E – Clean Energy Education & Empowerment – Woman of Distinction Award”, an international initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial and the International Energy Agency. Since March 2020, she has become a global ambassador for Brazil in the WomeninWind Global Leadership Program,(GWEC-GWNET) designed to accelerate women’s careers in the wind industry. Economist, Phd, with more than 20 years of career in the energy sector. She has accumulated experience at CCEE, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Ministry of Finance and ANEEL. Academic, with books and articles published, Elbia is an expert in Regulation and Electric Energy Markets, having worked in this area since 1998.

Gabriela Oliveira

Maria Gabriela da Rocha Oliveira is GM of Renewable Generation for Latin America at Shell where she oversees the business and project development of both onshore (wind and solar) and offshore renewables (offshore wind). Prior to joining Shell she was responsible for establishing First Solar’s entry into the Brazilian market where she also let business development activities for the US-based manufacturer of thin-film panels in South America. She started her career at Bloomberg New Energy Finance where she was Head of Research and Analysis for LATAM from 2010 to 2013. Gabriela has a Master’s of International Affairs (MIA) in Energy Management and Policy from the School of International Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University in New York and a BA in Political Science and International Affairs from Tufts University in Massachusetts.

Grazielle Parenti

Grazielle Parenti has over 28 years of experience and high-profile participation in the Food and Agriculture Industry, having worked for BRF, Diageo, and Mondelez. She holds a Business B.A. from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (“FGV”), an MBA with emphasis in Marketing from FIA/USP, and a Graduate Degree in Public Policy from FGV. Up until July 2022, she was the Vice President of Global Institutional Relations and Sustainability for BRF and held the position of Council President of ABIA – Brazilian Association of the Food Industry –, as well as President of the BRF Institute, and Counselor in the Executive Council of Foreign Trade for the Ministry of Economy. She is also a member of the Administrative Council of several class associations. Highly committed to the Diversity and Inclusion agenda, Grazielle is the President of the Brazilian Chapter of the BRICS Woman Business Alliance, Fiscal Counselor of the Women of Brazil Group, and Counselor of the CNI Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. She is currently a member of the Superior Council of Agribusiness of FIESP (São Paulo State Federation of Industries) and is the Director of ABAG (Brazilian Agribusiness Association). She is a Professor of Corporate Governance at the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). She is part of the list of the 500 most influential people in Latin America, according to Bloomberg, and is also one of the most powerful women in the agriculture business in 2021, according to Forbes Brazil Magazine.

James Ellis

He oversees an analyst team focused on research and analysis into clean energy, advanced transport, decarbonization technologies, commodities and corporate sustainability across the region. James joined BNEF in 2017 and has over ten years of energy and commodities research experience in the region. He holds an M.P.A. from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs and a B.A. magna cum laude from New York University.

Kobad Bhavnagri is a leading expert on the energy transition. He is the Global Head of Strategy for BloombergNEF, an international research provider specialising in the transition to a net-zero emissions economy. Kobad is a trusted advisor to senior decision makers around the world, and has held numerous roles with BNEF, including leading its work on industrial decarbonization, hydrogen, Asia-Pacific energy economics and managing its Australian business. He has authored over 100 publications spanning energy policy, economics, finance and technology since joining the company in 2010. Kobad is also a Non-Executive Director of the Carbon Market Institute, an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the faculty of Engineering at the University of New South Wales and a member of the Australian Government’s Energy Industry Roundtable. He has worked in the energy and finance industries since 2003 as an engineer, management consultant and analyst, and has a first class honours degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the University of New South Wales.

Prior to becoming CEO in 2020, he served as the Executive Vice President of Logistics, Distribution & Trading at Raízen. Mussa joined Raízen’s shareholder company, Cosan SA, in 2007 as a founder and the CEO at Radar, a Cosan business dedicated to investing in agricultural land with high potential for value appreciation. In 2014, he became CEO at Moove, the lubricants business of Cosan, with operations in six countries across Europe and Latin America. A graduate in Production Engineering from the Engineering School at the University of São Paulo, Mussa has held executive roles at additional multinationals including Unilever and Danone in Brazil and the United States.
