Colin McKerracher manages coverage of the transport and energy storage sectors at BloombergNEF. Colin’s team analyses the technology, policy and economic factors shaping the future of these industries. This includes electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, batteries, shared mobility, low carbon aviation, shipping and more. His team advises the world’s top automakers, parts suppliers, energy companies, policymakers, and investors. Colin previously managed BNEF’s coverage of the global smart grid industry. He has 18 years of experience in the clean energy and transport sectors and presents regularly at leading industry events. Colin’s past roles include Director of Sales and Marketing for Neurio, a smart grid technology company, and Business Development Manager for a Canadian biofuel company. Colin holds degrees from the London School of Economics and the Sauder School of Business at UBC.

Yayoi Sekine

Batteries

Yayoi Sekine heads the Energy Storage practice at BloombergNEF based out of New York, overseeing a global research team that produces insights on energy storage markets, technologies and supply chain. This includes upstream technology and supply chain, as well as downstream stationary energy storage markets. Prior to this role, she led the Decentralized Energy research practice globally, covering distributed energy, energy storage and impact of decentralization on power systems and networks. In previous roles, she covered energy storage markets in the Americas, also out of New York, and was a Research Analyst based in Sao Paulo having spent four years covering Latin American renewable energy market development through BNEF. Yayoi holds a BSc in Global Resource Systems from the University of British Columbia (Canada).

Andrew Grant

Intelligent Mobility

Andrew Grant leads BloombergNEF's global Intelligent Mobility research team, which produces research, datasets and long-term outlooks on shared mobility services and autonomous vehicles. Andrew is also an author and the lead modeler of BNEF's annual “Long-Term Electric Vehicle Outlook”. Based in London, U.K., Andrew holds MSc Applied Economics and Bachelor of Business Science in Economics degrees from the University of Cape Town.

Ryan Fisher

Charging Infrastructure

Ryan leads Charging Infrastructure research at BloombergNEF. He covers the technology, policy and economic factors shaping the transport sector. Within the team Ryan authors research on the status of the industry, financial analysis and forecasts. He regularly contributes to Bloomberg’s Hyperdrive column with opinions and analysis from his research. Prior to joining BloombergNEF Ryan worked at Jaguar Land Rover for five years working on their electrification and mobility strategies. Ryan holds a master’s degree in Automotive Technology from the University of Warwick and a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Liverpool.

Nikolas Soulopoulos

Trucking and Freight

Nikolas Soulopoulos manages BloombergNEF’s coverage of trucking, aviation and maritime transport. Previously, his role focused on the manufacturing economics of electric vehicles, policy analyses and automotive corporate strategies. Before joining BNEF, Nikolas was a researcher at Imperial College London, where he completed a PhD in fluid mechanics.
