Market Specialist - Derivatives & Risk

Gaurav specializes in X-asset derivatives pricing and risk management at Bloomberg and leads the structured products strategy for the APAC region.

Prior to joining Bloomberg, he has worked in the corporate and investment banking industry across Asia & Europe including specializing in structuring of complex derivative products. He is passionate about quantitative finance and risk management, with a keen interest in application of machine learning techniques in finance.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and MBA (Finance) from the M.S. University of Baroda. Gaurav has also been awarded the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) and is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Mohsen Crofts

Equity Market and Product Specialist, Australia and New Zealand

Mohsen Crofts is Bloomberg's equity market and product specialist for Australia and New Zealand. He has 16 years of financial markets experience, with 9 years spent in equity research at Bloomberg Intelligence in Australia and Hong Kong. Previously he held sales roles at Bloomberg and Macquarie Group. Mohsen has degrees in Law and Commerce from Murdoch University and is a CFA charterholder.

Eugene Lim

Quantitative Investment Strategy Market and Product Specialist

Eugene Lim, a Quantitative Market and Product Specialist at Bloomberg, joined in December 2023, bringing over 20 years of expertise in quantitative investment and portfolio management. In his current role, Eugene provides practical guidance and market views to clients and actively contributes to Bloomberg's Quantitative tools and data development based on client feedback. In his short tenure, Eugene has achieved a number of milestones, including developing market convention enhancements for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea, and spearheading a network of Quantitative investors. Before joining Bloomberg, He was a quantitative portfolio manager in multiple firms, including Macrovalue investors Hong Kong (Macro long/short, market neutral), Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management Singapore (Global active equity - ESG), and Vanguard Investment Australia (Multi-asset allocation strategy). He also served as a head of the quantitative strategy in the AIA insurance group (TAA/SAA) and applied research in MSCI (Factor/risk model research). Before entering the finance industry, Eugene was a data scientist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia. Eugene obtained his B.A. in Computer Science with honors and Ph.D. in science from the University of Sydney. He completed his post-graduate studies in Applied Finance at Macquarie University. Eugene enjoys contributing to the community by participating in Bloomberg's BOB program.

Kenny Chong

APAC Equity Derivatives Market Specialist

Kenny Chong has been working as an Equity Derivatives Market Specialist, APAC at Bloomberg since May 2023. In his current role, he advises Bloomberg’s clients, who are senior leaders in the industry, on how to manage their equity derivatives business and implement systematic trading strategies in Greater China and North Asia. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Verition, a multi-strategy hedge fund based in Greenwich, Connecticut, and was instrumental in setting up its Hong Kong office. He was also appointed in the Derivatives Market Consultative Panel (DMCP) of the HKEx. Kenny Chong is a former Managing Director and Head of Equity Derivatives and Proprietary Trading at Haitong International, where he established and led the global derivatives trading and market making business from 2016 to 2021. During his tenure, he achieved a remarkable feat by making Haitong the first Chinese firm to be awarded the “Best Equity Derivatives House – Hong Kong” title. Kenny Chong has over 18 years of experience in trading, having worked in Lehman Brothers and Nomura in various roles related to flow derivatives, options market making and high frequency trading. He holds a Masters of Finance from HKU, a Masters of Computer Science from HKUST and a Bachelor of Software Engineering from McMaster University in Canada.
