Global Gas Market Summer 2025 Outlook (APAC)
Spot demand in Asia may stay muted as high prices keep South and Southeast Asian buyers away whereas weak gas demand fundamentals and surging pipeline supplies limit China's appetite for liquefied natural gas. Timely completion of upcoming LNG supply projects remains critical for easing prices going into next winter and beyond.
In the US, a cold winter season paired with the rapid startup of new LNG export facilities and strong power burns has driven inventories below the five-year average after gas stocks sat at a surplus for all of 2024. On the supply side, US gas production has risen to meet the stronger winter demand but there is uncertainty on whether producers will be able to match the pace of rapidly increasing demand.
