Alfred Kammer

Head of European Department

International Monetary Fund

Alfred Kammer is the Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund since August 2020. In this capacity, he oversees the IMF’s work with Europe. Mr. Kammer was previously the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Managing Director, advising the Managing Director on strategic and operational issues and overseeing operations for the senior management team; Deputy Director of the Strategy, Policy and Review Department, overseeing the work on Fund strategy and surveillance policy; Deputy Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department, overseeing regional economic developments and financial sector issues; Director of the Office of Technical Assistance Management, advising management on technical assistance operations and overseeing fundraising and global partnerships for capacity building; and Advisor to the Deputy Managing Director. Mr. Kammer also served as resident representative of the IMF in Russia. Since joining the IMF, Mr. Kammer worked with countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and on a wide range of policy and strategic issues.

Constantinos Herodotou

Governor

Central Bank of Cyprus

Constantinos Herodotou is the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) and a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank. Previously he served as Executive Director at the CBC’s Board of Directors (2017-2019). He also held the position of the Commissioner of Privatisations in Cyprus (2014-2017). Before moving to Cyprus in 2014, most of his career was in investment banking at UBS Investment Bank in London, where he rose through the ranks to head concurrently two sectors: Head of Shipping for Europe, Middle East and Africa and simultaneously Infrastructure & Project Concessions Advisory & Financing for Central & Eastern Europe. He has advised governments and global conglomerates on major financial transactions and strategy, totaling a value of over €50 billion. His experience includes among others, mergers and acquisitions, structuring and financing project concessions, listing companies on stock exchanges (NASDAQ and NYSE), structuring and raising equity and debt, corporate and financial restructurings and heading complex negotiations. Constantinos Herodotou holds an MBA from London Business School with Distinction and a BSc in Economics from University College London with First Class Honours.

Phillip Hildebrand

Vice Chairman

BlackRock

Philipp Hildebrand, Vice Chairman of BlackRock, is a member of the firm's Global Executive Committee. He also oversees the BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) and BlackRock Sustainable Investing (BSI). Mr. Hildebrand joined BlackRock in 2012. Prior to that, he served as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB). In that capacity, he was also a Director of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the Swiss Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB), of which the Leaders of the G20 appointed him Vice Chairman in 2011. He was also Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Board of Directors of the BIS, and part of the Steering Committee and the Plenary of the Financial Stability Board (FSB). Previously, Mr. Hildebrand was Chief Investment Officer of a Swiss private bank and a partner at Moore Capital Management in London. Mr. Hildebrand is a Trustee of the British Museum, a member of the Group of Thirty and an Honorary Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford. He sits on the International Advisory Board of Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government and the International Leadership Council for Europe for the University of Toronto. He is a Chevalier de L'Ordre National du Merite (France). Mr. Hildebrand earned a BA from the University of Toronto, an MA from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, and a DPhil from the University of Oxford.

Johan Van Overtveldt MEP

European Parliament's Budgets Committee and former Finance Minister of Belgium

Johan Van Overtveldt (°1955) holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp as well as an MBA from the University of Leuven. Johan Van Overtveldt started his career as a journalist for Trends, Belgium’s leading business magazine in 1978. In 1982 he went on to pursue a career in business and finance. In the ensuing ten years he worked in banking, the manufacturing sector and the clothing industry. In 1992 he returned to Trends to become Editor in Chief. Subsequently he became an advisor for a construction firm as well as the General Director of an employers’ organisation before finally returning to Trends for a second time in 2010. From September 2011 until October 2012 he became Editor in Chief for Knack, a weekly news magazine. As from 2012 he has been a part time macro-economics professor at the University of Hasselt. After the elections in 2014, he took on the mandate of Federal Finance Minister in the Belgian government. After the European Elections of 2019 he was elected as a Member of the European Parliament. He is also Chair of the Budget Committee in this Parliament.
