Oil Analyst Briefing

The lack of oil production capacity following years of upstream under-investment, as well as the expected return of global oil demand to pre-virus levels, will keep oil prices buoyed in the year ahead. Refinery margins have not kept up with the pace of demand recovery, in part due to higher oil and gas feedstock costs. However, the current bull market gives producers additional resources to invest in low-carbon alternatives and accelerate their energy transition journey.
