Nader Kabbani is the Founder and CEO of Legacy Social Development Advisory, a social enterprise that works with organizations to support global sustainability efforts and enhance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes. A development researcher and practitioner with over 20 years’ experience, Kabbani has served in leadership positions with the Brookings Doha Center, the Silatech Foundation, and the Syria Trust for Development. He also served on the faculty of the American University of Beirut and the research staff of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Kabbani holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and is a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC

Ahmed Al-Hammadi

Ahmed Al-Hammadi is the Chief Investment Officer for Europe, Russia and Turkey. He oversees Qatar Investment Authority’s direct sector teams’ investments in Europe, Russia and Turkey. Prior to joining QIA, Al-Hammadi worked at EFG-Hermes as a regional asset manager and before that at consulting firm Booz & Co. advising financial services clients on strategy, private equity investment opportunities, and organization structures. Al-Hammadi sits on the boards of Heathrow Airport, SoFi, Borsa Istanbul and Pavillion Real Estate Investment Trust. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2019. Ahmed Al-Hammadi is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has obtained his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Bassam Slim

Bassam Slim is a Senior Portfolio Manager with Aventicum Capital Management (Qatar) responsible for managing long only equity strategies focused on the MENA region. Prior to that, Bassam spent a short while with Abraaj Capital as part of the large cap buyout investment team as an Associate and was a key contributor to the execution of the PE firm’s investment in the insurance space. Bassam started his career as an Analyst with EFG-Hermes Asset Management as a member of the investment team with the responsibility for covering stocks across various sectors within the MENA region as well as assisting on the management of regional portfolios. He holds a BE in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut.

Akber Khan

Akber has more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry. Since 2009, he has headed up asset management at Doha-based, Al Rayan Investment (ARI). Akber is responsible for more than $1 billion of assets invested in Sharia-compliant, Gulf listed equities and global sukuk. Prior to ARI, Akber was a Director at Deutsche Bank in London where he spent more than 11 years in European and emerging market equities in trading and research roles.

At ARI, Akber manages Al Rayan GCC Fund, one of the largest Sharia-compliant GCC funds. He also oversees the Qatar Stock Exchange-listed, Al Rayan Qatar ETF (QATR), the world’s second largest, Sharia-compliant, equity ETF.

Akber graduated from University College London having read History and Economics. He has lived in Doha, Dubai, Frankfurt, Karachi and London.

Leo Chi Wai Tong defines, drives and orchestrates the Sustainability agenda and ESG initiatives across QNB Group. With 18 years’ experience as a banking and strategy consulting professional, he has delivered strategic change and transformation across Financial Services, UK Government, FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies.  With extensive experience at Accenture, BearingPoint and Deutsche Bank, Leo also holds BSc (Hons) and MSc from Imperial College London, Yale Executive Education, and Associateship of the Royal College of Science.

John Gollifer

John Gollifer leads the Middle East Investor Relations Association's (MEIRA) initiatives to promote best practice IR in the Middle East. MEIRA's primary audience is IR practitioners who wish to address the investment community. Increasingly, our market remit includes working with other stakeholders, from policy-makers and regulators to the regional exchanges.  John is a former banker having spent 15 years in corporate finance and equity capital markets in Asia and Europe. He spent 11 years as Head of IR at the Singapore Exchange, where he also had responsibility for strategy, marketing and communications. Prior to joining MEIRA in 2019, John led the UK IR Society. Along with his team he has launched the largest ETF platform in the MENA region at QSE. He works closely with asset owners, investment managers and brokers to develop ideas and exchange traded products for Qatari market. He takes pride in learning the most from his customers.

David Massias

David Massias joined Bloomberg in 2007 as an Equity Specialist to provide equity related consultative solutions to clients. Since that time, David has enjoyed a diversified career at Bloomberg. He first worked as a Bloomberg Account Manager covering large financial institutions and corporations ranging from corporate treasuries and hedge funds to research houses. He then became Global Relationship Manager for Credit Agricole for almost two years. Since 2011, David has become Bloomberg’s Equity Application Specialist for EMEA clients, where he delivers a number of seminars and webinars on key industry topics such as Equity Markets, Value Investing, Risk Analysis, Fundamental Research and ESG to 200+ audiences regularly. David’s aim is to provide Bloomberg clients with knowledge on which products or solutions will provide them with the most efficient tools to their workflow needs and problems.

Olivier Wibo, CFA, is a Sustainable Finance Solutions Product Manager at Bloomberg, responsible for the development and bringing to market the Bloomberg ESG Scores as well as supporting Sustainable Finance products and tools with a current focus on temperature portfolio alignment. He has worked at Bloomberg since 1998 in a variety holding a number of positions there over the years across including leading a team of specialists that successfully launched the Bloomberg Portfolio Analytics and Risk & Bloomberg indices across EMEA and APAC. Olivier is a CFA charterholder, and holds a BS in Business Administration and Management, Finance from Louvain (Belgium). He is married with two children
