Matty Zhao is Managing Director, Co-head of China Equity Research, Head of APAC Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and ESG Research. She also oversees the Energy, Materials, Auto, Consumer, China Property, Infrastructure & Hong Kong Conglomerates, Gaming & Lodging, Industrials and Utilities teams. Matty joined BofA Securities in 2015. She covers over 30 stocks in Hong Kong/China Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors, and co-ordinates the two sectors in Asia Pacific. In 2024 All Asia Institutional investors survey Matty and her team are ranked No.1 in Chemicals, Oil&Gas and No.2 in Basic materials; and Matty is personally ranked No.1 in both sectors. Her team have been top ranked since 2016 in Basic Materials and Chemicals and Oi & Gas for both Institutional Investor All-Asia and All-China surveys. Prior to joining BofA Securities, Matty worked as Director and Asia Head of Basic Materials research in Macquarie for five years; and before that as an equity research analyst in Nomura. Matty also worked in KPMG London and Hong Kong office for four years. She is a UK qualified accountant. Matty graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) with a Master of Law (LLM) degree and from the Renmin University of China with a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree.

He has won accolades from Starmine, Asian Wall Street Journal and The Edge among others during his time as a sell-side analyst. Alvin is a CFA charterholder and graduated from University Tunku Abdul Rahman in accounting.

Working as a primary consultant, he has worked on regulatory and business driven change. He has designed risk and trading architectures, as well as execution & order management systems.

Tamara Mast Henderson, PhD, CFA

Tamara is Bloomberg’s Economist for Southeast Asia. She has over 25 years experience covering the mature economies and emerging markets of Europe and Asia. In previous roles, Tamara was deputy head of the International Monetary Fund’s Investment Unit in Washington, DC. She also led ANZ Banking Group’s Asian currency and rates strategy team in Singapore. Tamara has MA and PhD degrees in Economics from Claremont Graduate University (USA) and a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs and Economics from the University of Virginia (USA). She is a CFA Charterholder and the author of Fixed Income Strategy: A Practitioner’s Guide to Riding the Curve, published by Wiley & Sons.
