From 2011 to 2018, he was director of the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Research and Statistics, and served as a senior adviser to three Fed chairs. In the late 1990s, he served as Treasury assistant secretary for economic policy.

Nathan Dean is a government analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence specializes in capital markets, covering Congress and regulatory agencies including the SEC, CFTC and Federal Reserve. Before joining Bloomberg, Nathan worked in the government affairs departments for CME Group (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) and Bank of America, where he focused on the regulatory implementation of Dodd-Frank and Congressional attempts to amend the Act. He also served as an expert for legislators, policymakers and regulators on the impact of government policy on the financial services industry. Prior to working in government affairs, he led a team of structured finance managers focusing on collateralized loan obligations in Europe and the U.S. for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Nathan was also a management consultant for a boutique consulting firm, serving Fortune 500 clients. Nathan has a bachelor’s of science degree in Management from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Antoine Vagneur-Jones

Antoine Vagneur-Jones leads the Trade & Supply Chains team at BloombergNEF, Bloomberg’s primary research service covering the energy transition. His work looks at the intersection of global supply chains with the energy sector. Topics include industrial strategy, manufacturing, trade flows, and carbon border interventions. His work has been cited in The Financial Times, The Economist, The New York Times, Politico and Bloomberg. Antoine previously worked in business development on solar and biogas projects for a Tokyo-based renewable energy startup. Prior to that, he conducted geopolitical research for a think tank in Paris for the French Ministry of Defence. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics and SOAS, University of London.
